HACKS EVERY JEWELRY FREAK SHOULD KNOW

HACKS EVERY JEWELRY FREAK SHOULD KNOW

You know that frustration of trying to latch a tricky bracelet by yourself or when you want to get a knot out of your necklace? Well babes, here's a few helpful hacks to put in your back pocket, just to make your life as a jewelry freak a little easier!

The solution for that bracelet is more within reach than you can imagine: it is an uncoiled paper clip! Let's take this example to start with hack number 1.

USE A PAPERCLIP TO HELP FASTEN A BRACELET

Start by opening the end and hooking it into one of the links at the end of the loose chain. Then with the same hand, you will hold the clip you need to wear the bracelet on. Then, loop the chain around your wrist and hook the clasp of the bracelet on the correct link. Easy peasy!

PUT IN OUR LITTLE WILDTHINGS HOOP FROM THE BACK

Why? 1 It’s easier, because you actually see what you are doing when you are looking in the mirror. 2 The hinge is at the back, so it looks better!

Or, to make it even easier: if you would like to put in a nice big earring for a day, you can also just leave the little earring in and just put the other one at the same hole. It looks cute and it saves you the trouble!
Pssst. About the huggies and the new click hoops: the pin should be slightly bent!

CLEAN YOUR JEWELRY TO MAKE IT SHINE AGAIN!

As mentioned in the video, it is highly recommended to clean your jewelry once in a while. There are several ways to do this, but with some basic household supplies you can go a long way! All you need is 1 bowl of hot water, t-spoon of baking soda a bowl of cold water and… a toothbrush. PS Please, don’t use this cleaning method on your goldplated items!

Step 1. Collect your jewelry that could use a bit more shine. Step 2. Put the soda into a bowl with 1 liter of hot water or sprinkle your toothbrush. Step 3. Get the toothbrush and just start brushing. Step 4. Everything completely clean? Put them in the bowl with cold water to rinse them off. Step 5: Use our polishing cloth to get them dry and extra shiny.

To keep your jewelry in the very best condition, you should definitely take off your gold jewelry when washing your hands or showering.

HOW DO YOU GET KNOTS OUT OF CHAINS (AND STOMACH ;-))?

All you need for this to detangle is a little bit of 'lube'. With some coconut oil or olive oil from the pantry, it becomes a piece of cake! Take a small amount of oil, spread it over the tangled part, and separate it with the open end of a safety pin. Important: place the chain on a flat surface. No oil in house? We heard baby powder could work too!
