Care for silver

All our silver pieces are made from 100% recycled silver. This means you can wear them always and in any situation. If your silver piece has lost its gloss or has oxidized you can clean it and it will be as good as new.

You can clean your silver jewellery with a special product like Hagerty silver clean for jewellery or you can use a silver polishing cloth (available on our website) or clean it at home with basic products. This is how you can do that:

In a small bowl, stir a couple drops of mild dish soap into warm water to create suds. Let your silver jewelry sit in the solution for about five minutes.
Use a soft toothbrush to gentle scrub away tarnish from any crevices in the jewelry.
Rinse each piece in a bowl of clean, warm water. (If rinsing over the sink, use a drain catcher to prevent dropping any jewelry down the drain).
Dry each piece of jewelry with a soft cloth. Don't use a paper towel, which can scratch the soft surface of silver jewelry.

It is best to store your silver jewellery in a box or pouch to limit the amount of air exposure the jewelry gets, again helping to prevent tarnish.

Scratches and user marks may occur while wearing, which is normal with daily wear.

Care for gold plated

As it’s certainly tempting to wear your Wildthings jewellery all the time, we recommend removing when doing any of the following activities excessively: swimming, exercising and showering. Gold plated jewelry does not have the same characteristics as real gold. It is water resistant however overexposure to water may wear off the plating faster. Scratches and user marks may occur while wearing, which is normal with daily wear.

If your piece has lost some of it’s gloss take a normal piece of soft fabric and clean the jewellery piece. Do not use any chemical substances to clean the gold plating.

Care for pearls

We use cultivated freshwater pearls with AA quality, originated in Thailand.
To make sure your pearls stay pretty and shiny please be careful with the use of cosmetics. The chemicals can dull the pearl and this is irreversible.
Always store your pearls separate from your other jewellery to prevent the pearl from being scratched.

Care for solid gold items

Our 14k solid gold items will not oxidize or discolor. You can wear them all day everyday if you like.

It scratches less and doesn’t bend as easily. Our solid gold pieces can go for a lifetime if you give them the right amount of love and attention every once in a while.

How to clean your solid gold item:

Put a few drops of liquid dish detergent in a bowl of lukewarm (not hot) water.
Soak the gold jewelry in the solution. Allow the jewelry to sit in the water for about 15-30 minutes.
You can use a soft tooth brush to gently scrub the jewellery. (Handle with care)
Rinse the jewellery in warm running water.
After rinsing, use a soft cotton cloth to dry them a bit, let the jewelry sit out on a towel to air dry completely before wearing it again.

You can wear solid gold items everyday and anywhere, just be really careful when you are taking a heavily chlorinated hot tub/ swimming pool dip.
