This project was set up in collaboration with The Bali Curator & Cinta Bumi Artisans to provide work for tailors in Bali who are currently struggling with covid-19, while also running Cinta Bumi Artisans' natural dye studio, so they keep its employees working and continue to raise donations for people who work in tourism and who are now out of work because of corona.

The masks all have 3 layers. The outer layer is woven cotton, the layer in the middle is organic cotton and the layer that touches the face is tencel. All fabrics are either dyed with natural paint or eco-printed. In both cases, the materials used for dyeing, including the mordant, are 100% natural.

The tailors who worked on the masks are pak Nur and pak Komang. They are both self-employed tailors. Normally they work on custom orders from shops in the tourist areas. Because there are no tourists now, they now have very little to no work, which is why the mask project helps.

The donations have so far been given to Ketut Amerta and Kadek Toby, they both work as freelance drivers and are now unemployed. They are both now back to their families in villages because they cannot afford the rent in Denpasar this way. There are many people in Bali now in the same situation as Ketut and Toby, and for the rest of the donations, the Bali Curator selects people who know the money can help them at this time. The idea is to give the money directly to these people, instead of through an organization / foundation, because they themselves and their team know enough people who have been genuinely helped with a donation.
